Dear Deep Run Members,
I am happy to report that construction began on the kennels last week. (See photo attached). Getting final plans from the architect and then getting a building permit took longer than we hoped due to the timing of summer vacations. The kennels are going to cost $210,000 to rebuild. Buck Jones (a Deep Run member) is the general contractor. He thinks that the kennels will be completed by November 15, 2019.
The hounds are still kenneled at Beth Brown's and Ben Andrew's barn next door. The staff has done an excellent job making things work for the hounds this summer. They are obviously very anxious for them to return home.
We are continuing our fund raising efforts. We still need around $30,000 to cover the costs of not only the building but the contents that were lost in the fire. We are very grateful for the support that we have received from our members and the hunting community.
Stay tuned for further updates.
Ginny Perrin, MFH
